Kryptek
Kryptek Mandrake is one of several modern camouflage patterns created by Kryptec Outdoor Group intended for tactical operatives acting in multiple transitional settings. Avant-garde Kryptek designs fuse cutting-edge technology and combine established camouflage concepts, swimmingly mimicking animal and vegetative, as well as aquatic and topographic visual features. Just as the other Kryptek camo patterns, Mandrake makes good use of a multi-directional layout to effectively hide in a vast number of landscapes with either parallel or upright flow, and at both close and long ranges. This layout consists of two layers of fluctuating shading on the background, foreground with explicit irregular geometrical shapes, and a light-reflecting gradient with color arrangement chosen to simulate natural settings (greens, browns, greys and beiges) aid to produce a three-dimensional effect. In consequence, it works perfectly in shadowy forests and heavily wooded areas. Favoured by hunters, Airsoft and paintball players, Kryptek camouflages eventually became popular also among law enforcement and special operations personnel. Ultimately, Kryptek Mandrake camo too was implemented to many types of military clothing, combat webbing and field gear.
